Following Sandy, We’re Back at It.

A graphical map showing Hurricane Sandy's path from Saturday, Oct. 27th through Sunday, Oct. 28th.

Over the weekend, Hurricane Sandy shut down most of D.C. (including the PEN/Faulkner offices). We’re happy to report, however, that as of today, we’re back at it, as are most D.C. public schools. A full list of closures and delays can be found here

Sadly, Sandy delayed two of our Writers in Schools visits, but stay tuned for more information about upcoming visits to the SEED School, Coolidge High School, Anacostia High School, and Bell Multicultural, among others.

Mostly, our hearts go out to those who were most affected. The stories coming out of New Jersey and New York are just heartbreaking. Our thoughts are with you.
