Dennis Lehane

Dennis Lehane is the author of the short story collection Coronado. His other works include: A Drink Before the War; Darkness, Take My Hand; Sacred; Gone Baby Gone; rayers for Rain; and Shutter Island. His novel Mystic River was a finalist for the PEN/Winship Award, winner of the Anthony Award, the Barry Award for Best Novel, and the Massachusetts Book Award, and it was made into an Academy Award-winning film starring Sean Penn and directed by Clint Eastwood.

George Pelecanos

George Pelecanos is an award-winning journalist and the author of 14 crime-noir novels. He won The Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Hell to Pay and Soul Circus, and the International Crime Novel of the Year award in France, Germany, and Japan for The Big Blowdown. A regular screenwriter and independent-film producer, Pelecanos was nominated for a 2005 Emmy for his writing on the HBO television series The Wire. His novel Right As Rain has been sold to Warner Brothers, and Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks selected him to write two episodes for The Pacific War, the forthcoming HBO series.

Richard Price

Richard Price is the author of seven novels, including the national bestsellers Freedomland, nominated for The Los Angeles Times Book Prize and an Irish Times Literature Award; and Clockers, nominated for the National Book Critics Circle Award. A recipient of the Literature Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, Price’s fiction, articles, and essays have appeared in Esquire, The Village Voice, Playboy, Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, New York Times Book Review, and The New York Times. He has also written numerous screenplays, including Sea of Love, Ransom, and The Color of Money.

 

Clarence Page is a nationally-syndicated columnist for The Chicago Tribune and a frequent panel member and essayist for The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. Winner of the 1989 Pulitzer Prize for commentary, Page is an occasional panelist on The MacLaughlin Group and has published pieces in The Chicago Reader, Washington Monthly, The New Republic, The Wall Street Journal, New York Newsday, and Emerge.
