What is the Summer Supper & Book Club?

The school year is coming to a close here in Washington, DC and up in Baltimore, which means that our year of regularly scheduled Writers in Schools programming is also coming to a close. That said, because we’re dedicated to bringing writers and students together, PEN/Faulkner runs a summer program intended to get books into the hands of enrolled students, and to bring those students together with the authors they’ve read for the program.

What is the Summer Supper & Book Club?

The 2013 Summer Supper & Book Club, an initiative of PEN/Faulkner’s Writers in Schools program, will provide students with free copies of contemporary literature and the opportunity to meet and discuss those books with the authors who wrote them. The program will also provide an informal dinner and supplementary materials to participating students.

Sessions start Tuesday, June 25, 2013 and run every Tuesday evening from 5:30 — 8:00 p.m. (6/25, 7/2, 7/9, 7/16, 7/23, 7/30, 8/6) through August 6, 2013.

The Summer Supper & Book Club will meet
at Hill Center at Old Naval Hospital in Eastern Market
921 Pennsylvania Ave SE  |  Washington, DC 20003
Accessible by Metro, just 1.5 blocks from the Eastern Market station and Pennsylvania Ave. Bus lines.
