Sarah Silberman

Awards and Literary Programs Director

Sarah Silberman (she/her/hers) is a reader and fiction writer. She loves author events. In particular: she loves hearing writers describe how they approach their work, and the sense of connection she feels when she is in a space with people who value storytelling. She is delighted to be part of a team bringing literary events to readers throughout the country.

Before joining PEN/Faulkner in June 2022, Sarah worked for an organization promoting youth justice reform and in book publishing. Her short stories have appeared in Booth, CutBank, Juked, Nashville Review, Potomac Review, upstreet, and Witness, and she holds an MFA from George Mason University. In her free time, she enjoys taking walks, listening to podcasts about productivity, and being unproductive.
